CONTROL LINE STRAIGHTENING TOOL

The Control Line Straightening Tool is designed to straighten short lengths of control lines manufactured from all varieties of CRA alloys and sizes from ¼”OD to ¾”OD bare line, encapsulated line and multi-line flat packs. Its principal use is for precision straightening over short intervals to be coned and threaded for Butech/Autoclave connections. A secondary use is for general straightening and removal of “kinks” to allow the lines to have good conformance alongside tubing strings.

The Control Line Straightening Tool l employs hydraulic pressure to operate a ram that close contoured plastic die sets on tubing in need of straightening. Dies are custom-made specifically for each size and grade of tubing. Typical die closure force is in the range of 1,000 lbf to 3,000 lbf. Dies can also be fabricated from high-strength aluminum if required.

*The Control Line Straightening Tool is not designed to produce “straight stick” lengths of tubing.
